What Canon Is Comparable To The Eos 500d T1i Rebel?

I really like that camera but i really expensive!! I can’t spend $900 right now on a camera. I’m taking photography/videography classes in college, and i like that the 500d had HD video recording, but like i said, money is a little tight. What other Canon EOS DSLR/SLR camera would be really comparable to it?
