EOS 7D New Firmware v1.2.5

Canon has recently updated the firmware for their EOS 7D DSLR to version v1.2.5.

The updated firmware fixes some bugs related to video recording and still pictures on some CF cards. It also fixes some problems with Image Stabilization (IS) on some lenses in custom setting mode.

AF-S NIKKOR f/1.8G Update

I just found out that Nikon has published details of a new lens, AF-S NIKKOR f/1.8G with built in “Silent Wave” focusing.

The lens is constructed with a new optical design using 7 elements divided in 6 groups. One aspherical element is also included in the lens.

The lens can be used on Nikon DX and FX DSLR’s and is similar to a 75mm lens in terms of angle of view for all camera models with a crop factor.

New firmware update for Ricoh GXR system v1.36

Ricoh just released a new firmware revision for their GXR camera system, applicable for their P10 28-300mm, A12 28mm, S10 24-72mm and 50mm macro zoom lens models.

Version 1.36 fixes a bug associated with the Cross Process scene mode in all of the models. The improvement also fix various other bugs to the A12 28mm and 50mm models. The firmware update makes the applicable changes for each model and is accessible for instant download from Ricoh’s website.

New Firmware Release – Canon EOS 60D Release 1.0.9

Canon’s recently released a new Firmware for Canon EOS 60D and version 1.0.9 comes with the following corrections and modifications.

Fix #1. Modifies the name of the function named “Art Filters” to “Creative Filters” in the Japanese model.

Fix #2. Corrects a problem where the digital camera might function incorrectly whenever it is set to Quick Mode AF during Live View capturing instantly after taking a picture with the C.Fn II-1 Long exposure noise reduction setting set to [2: On] and a shutter speed setting of five seconds or more.

Fix #3. Corrects a problem where by the digital camera might function incorrectly after taking pictures in Live View mode, the remote switch on the EOS Utility screen is pressed to instantly start movie-shooting.

This problem happens only when the digital camera is hooked up to a computer and the Remote Live View feature of EOS Utility software is used.
