We've been meeting monthly in Brisbane since 1999 to talk cameras, show each other our newly discovered gems, hold informative discussions and generally just indulge ourselves in our various camera obsessions.
Thankfully there is no brand snobbery so you’ll find Leica or Nikon tragics happily rubbing shoulders with people who collect Pentax, point and shoots, or vintage wood and brass.
We even collect digital cameras… its not just film cameras.
There are even regular club auctions for members where we can buy and sell fantastic old and new equipment (and some fun junk too!)
As a nice bonus there is a great supper break halfway through the night!
We are especially proud to run Australia’s best camera fair.
The hall is actually right under the Albion overpass bridge, with lots of free protected undercover parking.
But if you do like the club and want to be able to participate in all its activities, including the auctions and have special privileges at the fair, then membership is an annual $30 fee, which we can arrange at a club meeting or via email.
We see ourselves as custodians not owners.
As a part of this responsibility we are always on the lookout for old cameras that can be saved or might even be searching for a new home.
Depending on the equipment, we accept cameras for club auctions both as donations and on commission.
So please feel free to connect with us via OUR CONTACT FORM if you have a box of grandads old cameras that you don't know what to do with, or you know of a friend of a friend who has something hidden away in an attic.
Its important to note that we don’t offer general appraisal of values for insurance or for personal sales advice etc. (Honestly, we ourselves just look up the 'sold' prices on eBay.... and then make an educated guess!)
